Venzone

The town of Venzone, located between the Tagliamento and Canale valleys, is an ancient medieval town in the region. Declared a National Monument, Venzone today represents one of the most extraordinary examples of restoration in the field of architecture and art that took place after the '76 earthquake that razed the town to the ground. Venzone is also the only remaining example of a 14th-century fortified town on the entire territory of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Its imposing medieval walls along with the mummies of Venzone will be able to thrill you and transport you to another era. And in addition to the nature walks, don't miss the pumpkin festival that colors the entire town in October.
