Advent Pur
An evocative lantern-lit path winds through the woods of the village of Valbruna. A walk immersed in the typical Christmas atmosphere of Valbruna, framed by the snow-capped peaks of the Julian Alps and the wooden works by local artists.
Along the route there are stoves where one can stop and sip a warm tea, handcrafted cribs, a small stable with cute animals and characteristic stavoli (shelters) where fairy tales and ancient legends are told to children, while traditional music is sung and played around the fire.
A return to the Christmas of yesteryear and its magical period of preparation: Advent. A time of waiting to be experienced in an intimate way, appreciating the simplicity of what nature has to offer, walking on snow crunching underfoot in the silence that pervades the forest and the cold air that stings the face.
It is a time to become a little child again, with eyes and heart, and experience the enchantment of this extraordinary waiting period leading up to Christmas.
Start: in Valbruna, near the Voluntary Fire Brigade Station
Length: easy path of about 2 km with no difference in altitude
Days: 2-3 December, 8-9-10 December, 16-17 December, 23 December
Hours: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (last admission)
Cost: 0-5 years free / 6-13 years € 4.00 / from 14 years € 6.00 / residents free / for groups of 20 or more people € 5.00 per person
Recommended clothing: warm winter clothing, gloves and cap, hiking shoes
Lantern rental: € 10.00 on deposit
Advent Pur mugs and flasks: take your own mug/flask at the trailhead for free tea
Sledge hire: possibility to hire toboggans and bobsleighs to pull children along the trail
